Labor Activist, Yadullah Samadi’s Crime: Creating Calendars and Pens with Slogans for the Abolition of the Death Penalty and Child Labor

Yadollah Samadi, a labor activist and member of the board of directors of the Sanandaj Backers (Khabaz) Syndicate was informed of his charges. He was arrested on May 1st, 2018, at the same time of the International Labor Day, was arrested by security guards.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Yadollah Samadi, a labor activist who was arrested by security forces on May 1st, 2018, (International Labor Day) at his house, and was informed of his charges.  The charge of this detained worker is the preparation and distribution of calendars and pens on Labor Day with slogans for the abolition of the death penalty and child labor.

It is reported that at 2 pm on May 1st, on the same day as the International Labor Day, plainclothes forces with two cars were waiting around Yadullah Samadi’s house. When his sister came back from school and opened the house door to get in, the security forces entered the house and searched the house and arrested Yadollah Samadi without any explanation.

According to the Defenders of Labor Rights Center, a one-month arrest warrant has been issued for this labor activist.

Also, the Defenders of Labor Rights Center condemned the arrest of this labor activist in a statement and called for the unconditional release of Yadollah Samadi and other labor activists that were arrested on this day.

Yadollah Samadi, previously in 2015, was sentenced to 5 months of imprisonment and 30 lashes by the judge, “Hamid Soltan Ab-Sayed”, on charges of participating in the Kobani Kurdish Kurdish-gathering in Branch 106 of the Criminal Court.
