The first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Golpayegan, chaired by Judge Najafali Alian, on May 13th, 2018, issued the verdict for four civil activists living in Golpayegan. According to the verdict, Mohammad Nikbakht to two years, Fadlullah Nikbakht to eight months, and Hadi Nikbakht and Hussein Fayyazi each sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mohammad Nikbakht, along with his two brothers, Fazlullah and Hadi, civil activists residing in Golpayegan and Hussein Fayyazi, were among the detainees that were charged with “using propaganda against the system through telegram channel Dad-va-Bida, conducting illegal gatherings, and insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic and the leadership”. On May 13th, 2018, they were sentenced to a total of 48 months of imprisonment by a branch of the Golpayegan Islamic Revolutionary Court Branch 1, headed by Najaf Ali Alian
Mohammad Nikbakht was charged with “using propaganda against the system through telegram channel Dad-va-Bida, conducting illegal gatherings, and insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic and the leadership”. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment. Along with the defendant, Fazlullah Nikbakht was also was charged with “using propaganda against the system through telegram channel Dad-va-Bidad and conducting illegal gatherings’. He was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment.
Hadi Nikbakht and Hussein Fayyazi, the other detainees in the case, have been sentenced to six months of imprisonment on the charges of “using propaganda against the system through telegram channel Dad-va-Bidad and conducting illegal gatherings”.
It was previously reported that on Saturday, December 30th of last year, Golpayegan Intelligence officers from the district of Isfahan attacked the Mohammad Nikbakht’s house and with his two brothers, Hadi and Fazlullah, and after beating the other family members, arrested the three family members. According to a source close to this family, during the beatings by security forces, the wife and son of Fazlullah ‘s wife and child were injured.
