Read Majid Azizi’s letter:

“My fellow comrades, my co-labor brother, Ismail Bakhshi, you were tortured in Ahvaz and I was in Shiraz.

We are the live witnesses of violation against human rights and freedom and torture. We are protesters for whom they took our freedoms and destroyed our human dignity. The response to our legitimate and peaceful protests and demands was arrest with beatings. I was tortured, in the Shiraz Intelligence office. While blindfold and handcuffed for interrogation, they took me from solitary confinement to the interrogation room. The interrogators loudly addressed me and my family with raucous and sexual insults and kicked me with their boots firmly on my head, face, chest and abdomen so hard that I could not breath. I could not even cry out from the pain and when I was failing to the cold and empty ground of the interrogation room, they would start hitting me with a baton. They hit my legs and said that I should confess to communicating with their imaginary enemies. This suffering, torture, humiliation, and solitary confinement continued for weeks.

I also was arrested illegally and was tortured and sentenced to one-year imprisonment on charge of propaganda against the regime. I am currently imprisoned in Adelabad prison in Shiraz, but this was not the end of torture; at the moment, I do not receive the medications required for my heart disease and they will not accept the necessary supplies for me from my family. My lungs are severely infected and they will not allow me to visit a prison doctor. Yes, I was tortured. I never hurt anyone in my life. I was successful in my studies and graduated in the field of cinema, and I became a human and a successful citizen. But they took my freedom and the right to life away from me in the government of the Islamic Republic. They do not know that they cannot separate us; it does not matter what they do to us. You are in Ahvaz and I in the prison of Adilabad, Shiraz, Soheil Arabi, in Fashafiyeh and Arash Sadeghi in Karaj Prison, we all cry out for freedom.
