Ismail Bakhshi, Sepideh Gholyan, Amir Amirgholi, and Several Other Defendants were Transferred to Evin Prison

Ismail Bakhshi, Sepideh Gholiyan and Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, arrested labor activists, along with several other defendants, were transferred to Evin Prison.

On Sunday, April 28th, 2019, Sepideh Ghaliyan was transferred from Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz, while Ismail Bakhshi and Amir Amirgholi were transferred from Shehaban Prison to Evin Prison in Tehran. The transfer is said to have taken place for their hearing session in Evin Prison. The three were arrested in last January 2019.

The “Haft Tapeh Workers’ Syndicate” reported that these people were transferred to Evin Prison with “other defendants” (No information is available on the names of the other defendants).

They have been transferred to Evin Prison for the hearing at Branch 7 of the Courts of Investigation, and their attorneys are not allowed to attend the hearing due to the objections by the branch attorney.

Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, labor activist and a member of the Gam publication, was arrested at his private residence in Bablosar on Sunday, January 14th, 2019, and transferred to Evin Prison. After about a month while his interim detention was over, with the order of Sosh Intelligence Office, he was transferred to the Shehaban Prison in Ahwaz. This is while he is in critical condition due to scars resulting from blisters, diabetes mellitus, lack of medical attention, and unhealthy conditions in the prison.

Earlier, sources close to Mr. Amirgholi had told the campaign that he has diabetes and should inject the insulin given to him by his physician four times a day.

Ismail Bakhshi, one of the Haft Tapeh sugar cane factory, and Sepideh Ghaliyan, labor activist, were arrested on Sunday, January 20th, 2019.

The arrest of Sepideh Ghaliyan and Ismail Bakhshi happened after the release of a documentary titled “Burned Design,”(Tarhi Sokhteh) in the Islamic Republic of Iran Television, which was about the forced confession of Ismail Bakhshi, Sepideh Ghaliyan, and a group of civil activists.

The two stressed that they had been tortured during the arrest and that the confessions shown in “Burned Design” (Tarhi Sokhteh) documentary occurred while they tortured.
