From Wednesday last week to Tuesday this week, October 15th, 2019, at least five prisoners, sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder”, “drug related crime” and “rape”, were executed in Rajai Shahr Prisons in Karaj, Zanjan, Sanandaj, and Bandar Abbas.
According to a report on the Iranian Human Rights Web site, a man and a woman were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on Wednesday, October 9th, 2019.
The identity of the executed man announced as Alireza Mahmandoust, in Ward 4, who was convicted of “premeditated murder”. The identity of the woman executed on the same day is unknown. It is also unclear from which prison the woman was transferred to Rajaii Shahr for execution. According to an informed source, since the plaintiffs were presented at the execution time, it appears that she was also convicted for “premeditated murder.”
A prisoner was executed in Sanandaj Central Prison on morning of Thursday, October 10th, 2019. The identity of the prisoner convicted of “premeditated murder has been announced as Alam Karimi, a fifty-year-old from Marivan. Alam Karimi has been in prison on this charge for 10 years.
Earlier, an informed source told the Iranian Human Rights Organization: “Alam Karimi was arrested and sentenced to death for the murder of his nephew.”
According to ISNA, quoting the Chief Justice of Hormozgan Province, the death sentence of a prisoner who has been in Bandar Abbas Central Prison since 2014 has been executed on Saturday October 12th, 2019. The identity of the prisoner sentenced to death on charges of “rape” has been announced as (a.c.).
On Tuesday, October 15th, 2019, a prisoner was executed in Zanjan Central Prison. The identity of the prisoner who was sentenced to death on charges of “drug related crime” has been announced as Bahman Parvizi from Miandoab.
An informed source told the Human Rights Organization of Iran: “Bahman has been arrested along with two others for 65 kilograms of drug [unknown material] since 2014. All three have been sentenced to death in the Revolutionary Court, but only Bahman was executed, and his two inmates are still in jail. “
