Bassem Moradi and Sardar Ozmoush were Sentenced to a Total of Thirty Years in Prison by Revolutionary Court

In the past days, Bassem Moradi, a resident of Kamyaran and Sardar Ozmoush, a citizen of Turkey, were sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison by the Sanandaj and Orumiyeh Revolutionary Courts.

Bassem Moradi was sentenced to five years imprisonment for “membership in the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK)” and 10 years for ‘spying’ based on a verdict issued by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj. Ozmoush was also sentenced to 15 years in prison for “membership in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)” by the Urmia Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Sheikh Leu.

According to a report published on the website of the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, Mr. Moradi was arrested by security forces on April 29th, 2019. In a brief visit to his family in Sanandaj Intelligence Bureau in early August, he reported on the interrogators pressured on him to confess on being involved with a security scenario.

He was transferred to the Kamyaran Prison after the interrogation process was completed. He was released on 500 million Tomans bail on January 4th, 2020.

Sardar Ozmoush was arrested by the security forces of Orumiyeh on December 21st, 2019. He was transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison after ten days of interrogation by security forces.
