Javad Lale Mohammadi Arrested and Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison

Javad Lale Mohammadi, a writer, civil activist and member of the Iranian Teachers’ Association, was arrested following a summoned to the Intelligence Office in Mashhad by phone on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020. This activist was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Javad Lale Mohammadi, author, civil activist, member of the Iranian Teachers’ Association and a signatory of the Declaration known as 14 People, was arrested following a summoned to the Intelligence Office in Mashhad by phone on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020. This activist was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

After being detained at the Mashhad Intelligence Office, the civil and trade union activist during a brief phone conversation with his family, notified them of his 9 years detention sentence.

Civil activists calling for the resignation of Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, were arrested by security forces along with several other civil activists in front of the appeals court of Kamal Jafari Yazdi, who is detained in Mashhad prison, on August 11th, 2019.

Mr. Lal Mohammadi was released on bail on October 23rd, 2019.

Eight civil activists calling for the resignation of Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei in a June 6, 2009, call for the resignation of Mashhad’s Revolutionary Court Branch Judge Judge Mansouri, with a total of two years’ imprisonment, three years. Withdrawal from the country and sentenced to five years in exile.

On February 2nd, 2020, 8 civil activist and authors of the open letter calling for ‘Khamenei Resignation’, in Mashhad Revolutionary Court Branch 4 chaired by Judge mansouri, sentenced to total of 72 years in prison, 6 years in exile, and 6 years band on leaving the country.
