Sepideh Ghaliyan Trail was Held

Sepideh Ghaliyan’s trial was held in Dezful, on charges of “participating in the November protests” on Monday, July 6th, 2020.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, civil activist, Sepideh Ghaliyan’s trial was held in Dezful Criminal Court 2, on charges of “participating in the November protests” on Monday, July 6th, 2020.

Jamal Heydariymanesh, a lawyer for the political prisoner, wrote on his Instagram page that his client had been sentenced on charges of “disrupting public order on a large scale” according to article 286 of the Law.

In his article, Mr. Heydariymanesh called the charges against Sepideh Ghaliyan “grave, unjustified and heretical.”

He called the Ghaliyan presence in the protests “short-lived” and said his client only had a placard with a question mark.

Sepideh Ghaliyan, a labor activist and journalist who was sentenced to five years in prison for supporting Haft Tappeh workers and participating in the nationwide protests last November, after appearing at the Evin Judgment Enforcement Unit, was arrested and sent to Evin Prison to serve 5 years in prison on Sunday, June 21st, 2020.

Sepideh Ghaliyan, a labor activist and citizen journalist who was sentenced to five years in prison for supporting Haft Tappeh workers and participating in the nationwide protests last November, was sentenced to death on Sunday, July 22, 2016, after attending a sentencing unit. Evin court arrested him and sent him to Evin prison to serve 5 years in prison.

Sepideh Ghaliyan is serving a five-year sentence, but has not been pardoned, despite a number of her cases mates.

Sepideh Ghaliyan, a civil activist, was detained during the protests in November of 2019 at her father’s house with violence and beatings, on the evening of Saturday, November 16th, 2019. She was temporarily released on 200 million Tomans bail from Ahvaz Sepidar Prison on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019.

Following the recent arrest of Ms. Ghaliyan, a video was posted on social media in which protesters protested against the high cost of gasoline and chanted slogans: “Neither prison nor threats are effective anymore.”

Sepideh Ghaliyan was previously arrested on Sunday, January 20th, 2019. She was released on bail from Qarchak Prison in Varamin on Saturday, October 6th, 2019.

Sepideh Ghaliyan, one of the Haft Tappeh defendants, who was sentenced to 19 and a half years in prison, was on a hunger strike in Qarchak Prison in Varamin from Sunday, October 20th, 2020. She broke her hunger strike on the promises of prison authorities to peruse her demands on the morning of Friday, October 25th, 2019.

Sepideh Ghaliyan was previously arrested on Sunday, November 18th, 2018 and was temporally released on 500 million Tomans bail on December 2018. She was arrested again in Ahwaz on January 20th, 2019. She was transferred from Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz to Evin Prison on April 28th, 2019.

The journalist was transferred to Evin Prison on Sunday, April 28th, 2019, while Ismail Bakhshi and Amir (Ali) Amir Gholi were transferred to Evin Prison along with several other defendants on the same day.

Earlier, it was reported that during the interrogation session, Ms. Ghaliyan was charged with four counts of “propaganda against the regime,” “gathering and colluding to commit a crime against national security,” “cooperating with dissident groups,” and “disrupting public order.”
