Yasamin Hanifeh Tabatabaei summoned to serve her prison sentence

Yasamin Hanifeh Tabatabaei, a political activist, was summoned to Evin Court to serve her prison sentence.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, after receiving an electronic notification, Yasamin Hanifeh Tabatabaei, a political activist, was summoned to Branch 1 of the Moghaddas Court, located in District 33, to serve her prison sentence.

According to the notification received by Ms. Tabatabaei, she must introduce herself within the next 5 days to the Implementation of Sentences in Branch 1 of the Moghaddas Court in District 33.

Earlier, Yasamin Hanifeh Tabatabaei was sentenced by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, to 1 year in prison, social deprivation, and additional punishment on charges of “propaganda activities against the regime”.

The hearing on Ms. Tabatabaei’s charges of “propaganda activities against the regime” and “assembly and conspiracy to commit a crime against national security” was held on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Judge Afshari.

According to this report, during the court hearing, Ms. Hanifeh Tabatabaei stated in defense of her charges to the judge of the branch that where in the law, the trip to Pasargad (in Shiraz) is considered as an example of “gathering with the intention of colluding against national security” and also this member of Iran Democratic Front has stated that the interrogators forced her to cooperate with the security system, but because of her disobedience to this request of the agents, security system practically fabricated a case against her and continued harassing her inhumanely.

Ms. Tabatabaei was detained along with Heshmat Tabarzadi, Secretary General of Iran Democratic Front and other members of this organization on October 29 (2019), by security forces at a checkpoint, set up by security officers on the Pasargad road after Abadeh (in Fars Province).

The accusations against this citizen residing in Tehran were informed by the Fars Prosecutor after interrogation at the scene and she was transferred under security surveillance to Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence located in Evin Prison.

Ms. Tabatabaei was re-interrogated by Nasirpour, an investigator in Branch 2 of the Evin Security Court, and was temporarily released from Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence in Evin Prison on a bail of 2 billion Rials until the end of the proceedings.
