Mehraveh Khandan, Sotoudeh’s Daughter, was Summoned to Court

Mehraveh Khandan, Nasrin Sotoudeh’s 20-year-old daughter, was summoned to court.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Reza Khandan, the husband of Nasrin Sotoudeh, a civil activist and prisoners’ lawyer, announced that their 20-year-old daughter, Mehraveh Khandan, had been summoned to court.

According to Ms. Sotoudeh’s husband, “security pressure has been brought against Nasrin Sotoudeh and our family members, and Mehraveh, our 20-year-old daughter has been summoned to court.”

According to the judicial notice, Mehraveh Khandan must appear in Branch 15 of the Quds Judicial Complex on Monday, October 26th, 2020.

Earlier on August 17th, 2020, security forces arrested Nasrin’s daughter “Mehraveh Khandan” at the same time as Nasrin Sotoudeh went on a hunger strike and transferred her to the Evin Security Court without giving any explanation. She was released on bail the same day.

Nasrin Sotoudeh was arrested at her home and transferred to Evin Prison on June 13th, 2018. She was sentenced to 33 years in prison and 148 lashes on charges of “conspiring against state security”, “publishing lies”, “disturbing public opinion” and “insulting the authorities” which 12 years of imprisonment will be implemented.
