The death sentence of a prisoner from Sistan and Baluchistan named Mehrullah Rigi was performed in Langroud prison of Qom province on drug charges.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners; At dawn on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, Mehrullah Rigi, a native of Sistan and Baluchistan province, a prisoner accused of narcotics crimes imprisoned in Langroud prison of Qom province, was executed in this prison after his death sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
According to this report, this death row prisoner was transferred from the general ward of Langroud prison to solitary confinement to perform the death sentence on July 8th, 2022.
It should be noted that, in 2020, Mehrullah Rigi was arrested on the charge of carrying and possessing drugs and after going through interrogation, investigation and explanation of the charge in the trial phase, he was tried by the Qom Revolutionary Court and sentenced to death.
His death sentence was confirmed in the Supreme Court.
