Five Journalists and Writers were Summoned by Khuzestan’s Criminal Court

Khuzestan Province’s Criminal Court 1, issued a statement summoning 5 journalists and writers living in Abadan to appear for a hearing on Monday, September 14th, 2020.

These journalists and writers, named Hoda Karimi Sadr, Mandana Sadeghi, Dariush Memar, Seyed Hassan Mousavi and Kourosh Karampour, must appear in the Khuzestan Province’s 1st Criminal Court for a hearing on charges of “propaganda activity against the regime” and “insulting the Supreme Leader” within 10 days of subpoena.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, quoted by the International Federation of Journalists, these five civil activists were summoned last year by the Abadan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office on similar charges.

According to this report, Dariush Memar is the managing director of Feidos news site, Kourosh Karampour is the owner of the franchise and the managing director of weekly paper yadegari.

Mandana Sadeghi is a writer and journalist and the editor of Feidos News.

Also, Hoda Karimi Sadr is a writer and Seyed Hassan Mousavi is a poet and journalist.
