New Case in Prison; Reza Mohammad Hosseini was Sentenced to 50 Lashes

Reza Mohammad Hosseini, a political prisoner imprisoned in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj, was sentenced to 50 lashes by Branch 1165 of the Criminal Court two OF Quds Judicial Complexes in Tehran.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Reza Mohammad Hosseini, a political prisoner, for a new case against him in prison, was sentenced to 50 lashes by Branch 1165 of the Criminal Court Two of Tehran’s Quds Judicial Complex on Monday, February 22nd, 2021.

The new case was opened against Mr. Mohammad Hosseini by the head of Evin Prison’s information protection and security department.

The charge against the political prisoner was “insulting an officer on duty.”

Reza Mohammad Hosseini has been summoned to appear in court in recent days, but the first two hearings were not held due to the plaintiff’s absence.

This political prisoner was informed of “insulting an officer while on duty” charge when appeared in Branch 3 of the Evin Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Judge Hadi Samadpour, on Sunday, September 27th, 2020.

Reza Mohammad Hosseini, was transferred from Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj in mid-August 2020.

Mr. Mohammad Hosseini was tried in Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Mohammad Reza Amouzad on Saturday, September 12th, 2020.

He was charged in this case with “propaganda activity against the regime.”

Mr. Mohammad Hosseini was arrested by IRGC intelligence agents in May 2019.

He was transferred to Ward 2-A in Evin Prison for interrogation and forced confessions.

This political prisoner was transferred from ward two-a to quarantine ward after three months and then to ward four of Evin prison after 70 days.

Second Branch of the Evin Security Court, charged Mr. Mohammad Hosseini with “assembly and collusion”, “propaganda against the regime”, “insulting the speaker of the Islamic Republic”, “insulting the leadership”, “disturbing public order” and “disobeying the orders of officers”.

The first hearing of his case was held in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019.

Mr. Mohammad Hosseini, in protest to the continuation of his detention and the failure to change his temporary detention order is on hunger strike since Sunday, December 1st, 2019.

The political prisoner was transferred to the prison health center on the 35th day of his hunger strike.
