Yadi Samadi reported that his father’s home in Sanandaj was raided and searched by security forces. “The attack took place while I was working legally in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, due to unemployment,” he said.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Friday, March 11th, 2022, the Sanandaj security forces raided the house of Yadi Samadi’s father house, located in Farjeh neighborhood, and searched the house. After the search, they took some of his personal belongings and left.

According to the report, Mr. Samadi says: “After that, the security forces went to my older brother Habibollah Samadi’s house, who lives in the Asavaleh neighborhood, and then went to his small stationery shop that my brother has for several years to support his family. They searched the shop and confiscated a small copy machine from the shop.”

He added: “The security forces raided the house of my father and brother in Sanandaj while I was living in the city of Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan for about seventy days to find a job and escape from unemployment. During this time, I worked as a baker for a short time and since then I am working on a construction project owned by the Se Rageh Low Company.

The raid by the security forces intimidated my mother, sisters and my brother’s family.

Therefore, I condemn any threats, persecution and detention of civil activists, and I call for the unconditional release of all political prisoners and an end to the persecution and frame-up of social activists by security forces.
