Execution of Afghan National Abuzar Salem in Isfahan Prison

اعدام

The sentence of an Afghan inmate named Abuzar Salem, who was condemned to the death penalty for the charge of “premeditated murder,” was carried out in Isfahan Dastgerd Prison.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, the execution of an Afghan man took place in Isfahan Dastgerd Prison.

The identity of this inmate was confirmed as Abuzar Salem, a 30-year-old from Pulkhumri, who had been sentenced to the death penalty for the charge of “premeditated murder.”

A knowledgeable source regarding the execution of this inmate told the Iran Human Rights Organization: “Abuzar Salem was arrested and sentenced to the death penalty for premeditated murder about three years ago.”

As of writing this report, neither Iranian domestic media nor official sources have announced the execution of this inmate.

The lack of a grading system for premeditated murder in Iran means that any type of murder, regardless of the severity, nature, or motivation of the accused, results in a death sentence.
