Gholamreza Asghari, a member of the Ardabil Teachers Union, was arrested by the security forces at his home and taken to an unknown location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on the morning of Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, the security forces entered Gholamreza Asghari’s home and arrested him, causing concern and fear to his family members.
The arrest was made without a court order and and causing terror and scare for the family of this union activist.
Bahram Nemati, a teacher and a member of Ardabil Cultural Association, says: “Mr. Gholamreza Asghari, is a retired teacher, one of the Ardabil union activists and the country, and a veteran of the imposed war. As usual of every Tuesday, he was preparing to participate in the Tuesday union gathering of retirees, when they were arrested at to attend the union meeting when he got arrested. The follow-ups of the family and teachers of Ardabil for his release have not yet been successful.”
