Zakaria Karimi, the brother of Ayub Karimi, a prisoner of conscience who was executed by the security forces, was arrested in Sardasht and transferred to an unknown location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Zakaria Karimi, son of Omar, married with four children, from Mahabad and brother of Ayoub Karimi, a prisoner of conscience who was executed, was arrested by the security forces in Sardasht on Monday, November 27th, 2023.
According to an informed source, the security forces arrested this citizen in Sardasht city without providing a court order.
This informed source added: Zakaria Karimi was transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Department Detention Center for questioning, and until now he has been denied access to an appointed lawyer, phone calls, or meeting with his family.
This informed source said: the security forces raided Mr. Karimi’s house in Mahabad and violently arrested him on Thursday November 23rd, 2023. They severely tortured him in the Mahabad Intelligence Department Detention Center.
