A Porter Died After Being Shot by the Iraqi Border Guards

A porter named Hoshiar Mahmoudi was killed after Iraqi armed forces shot a group of Porters on Monday January 22nd, 2024.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, a Porter named “Hoshiar Mahmoudi”, the son of Eskandar from “Shamshir” village, Paveh district, died after being shot by the Iraqi border guards in “Taylor” Shushmi area of Paveh on Monday January 22nd, 2024.

According to reports, Hoshiar Mahmoudi and several other Porters were crossing the border when they were shot by the Iraqi border guards. He died due to the severity of his injuries.

Hoshiar Mahmoudi is 30 years old, married and has two children. According to an informed source, the body of this porter has been transferred to Kermanshah forensics to complete the investigation.
In this incident, another porter was injured by the Iraqi border guards, whose identity has not yet been determined for Kurdpa.

Porter is one of the dangerous and risky jobs in Iran. Porters often turn to this work to earn a living and cover their living expenses. But in recent years, a large number of porters have lost their lives as a result of firing by the border guards of Iran and Iraq.
