Maryam (Marzieh) Khalili, a 24-year-old resident of Isfahan, was detained by security forces in the city and transferred to an unknown location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, Ms. Khalili was detained by security forces in Isfahan.
An informed source close to Ms. Khalili’s family, while confirming this news, said: ‘Maryam’s arrest took place on Thursday by security forces.’
Ms. Khalili had been summoned to the judicial authorities several times before, interrogated, and released on bail. She is facing charges of ‘propaganda against the regime,’ ‘insulting the leadership,’ and ‘insulting sanctities.’ Her trial is scheduled to be held in May 2024 at one of the branches of the Isfahan Revolutionary Court.
As of preparation this report, the reasons for the arrest and the location of detention of this citizen have not been determined.”
