Nazila Maroufian, a journalist from Saqez and a resident of Tehran, was arrested and beaten in her home and taken to an unknown location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Nazila Maroufian, a journalist from Saqez and a resident of Tehran, was arrested again by the security forces at her home on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023. The arrest of this journalist was done with violence and assault.
Neighbors of Nazila Maroufian say: “The security forces broke down the door of Mrs. Maroufian’s house and severely assaulted her during the arrest on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023.”
It is said that this journalist was arrested for supporting Mehdi Yarahi.
On Sunday, August 13th, 2023, Nazila Maroufian was temporarily released from Evin prison after posting a bail of 300 million tomans.
On Monday, August 14th, 2023, Nazila Maroufian was arrested not less than 24 hours of her temporary release, due to “publishing a photo without the mandatory hijab and raising her hand to the symbol of victory”. Her arrest was along with “insults and abuses that are not worthy of human dignity” and “assaults”. Under the pressure of the Tehran prosecutor, she was transferred to Qarchak prison in Varamin and was released from Qarchak prison on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023.
