Two Kurdish Clerics Were Arrested in Bukan

Two Sunni clerics in the villages of Bukan, named Hassan Amini and Mohiuddin Mohammadzadeh, were arrested by the security forces without a court order and were taken to an unknown location.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Hasan Amini, the Bukan “Malaler” village’s Friday’s Imam and congregation was arrested on Saturday December 2nd, 2023. On the same day, Mohiuddin Mohammadzadeh, the Bukan “Nubar” village’s Friday’s Imam and congregation was arrested as well. Both were arrested by security forces.

According to an informed source, the security forces have arrested these two Kurdish Sunni clerics without a court order.

This informed source added: The family of these two Sunni clerics follow-up to find out about their fate have been fruitless.

Cleric Hasan Amini is from the village of “Markhz” in Saqez and Cleric Mohiuddin Mohammadzadeh is from the village of “Knolan” in Saqez.

Sunni cleric Mohiuddin Mohammadzadeh used to be Diwandareh county “Kole” village’s Friday imam. He was sentenced to leave the congregation and expelled from that village by the ruling of the Great Islamic Center of the West of the country on January 10th, 2015.

As of writing this report, there is no information about the arresting institution, the place of detention or the charges against these two Sunni clerics.
