Journalist Saba Azarpeik Summoning to Court

Following a report from the Ministry of Health, journalist Saba Azarpeik was summoned to court with a complaint from IRGC intelligence.

According to the Campaign for Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, reformist journalist Saba Azarpeik was summoned to court.

Saba Azarpeik was a reformist journalist and a correspondent for the political group Etemad newspaper.

After exposing the beatings, arrests and insults perpetrated by patrols in Tehran’s Vanak Square, which were widely reported in the mass media, especially on the eve of the 10th presidential election, the journalist faced complaints from law enforcement and threats from law enforcement officials.

Azarpeik had a history of being summoned and detained by security agencies during 2014, 2018, and 2019.
