Three Members of the Fars Teachers’ Association Were Released from Adelabad Prison in Shiraz with Electronic Monitoring

Iraj Rahnama, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, and Afshin Razmjoo, members of the Fars Teachers’ Association, have been released from Adelabad Prison in Shiraz with electronic monitoring.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Tuesday, February 12, 2024, Iraj Rahnama, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, and Afshin Razmjoo, who were serving five-year sentences, were released from Adelabad Prison in Shiraz with electronic monitoring.

Iraj Rahnama, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, and Afshin Razmjoo, the three members of the Fars Teachers’ Association, had previously been sentenced to five years in prison, banned from online activities, and prohibited from leaving the country with their passports revoked for two years.

The verdicts against these three members of the Teachers’ Guild Association of Fars were confirmed by Branch 37 of the Fars Province Court of Appeals.

The Coordination Council, while emphasizing the continuation of protests to achieve the fundamental demands of the teachers’ community and asserting the legal right to protest, demands unconditional freedom for all activists in detention.
