Arrest of Six Men and Two Women in “Fareedan” Town for Collaborating with Media Outlets


Two women and six men in Fareedan Town, located 130 kilometers west of Isfahan, were detained by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to the Campaign for Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Saturday, February 26th, 2024, a woman in Fareedan Town was arrested by security forces for collaborating with media outlets.

This woman was detained on Saturday, 26th, 2024, on suspicion of collaborating with anti-establishment media outlets by security forces. Since September 12th, 2023, eight citizens in this town have been arrested by security institutions, including six men and two women.

Based on information obtained, two men on September 12, 2023, one man on September 19th, 2023, two men on October 30th, 2023, one woman on January 18th, 2024, and one man on February 10th, 2024 were detained on charges such as spreading falsehoods, propagating against the system, insulting sanctities, and disrupting public order and national security in Fareedan town by security institutions.

Posting content on social networks has been among the allegations against some of these citizens.

Information about the whereabouts and fate of the detainees is not available.
